My Journey: From ZX Spectrum To AI-Driven Solutions

Fueled by a ZX Spectrum

It all began in the early nineties with a humble ZX Spectrum computer. I can’t quite recall where my oldest brother acquired it, but it soon became the catalyst for my lifelong journey into the world of technology. My first foray into programming with BASIC on that tiny machine left an indelible mark, a memory I still cherish to this day.

In 1995, as I embarked on my school years, I discovered my love for mathematics. Numbers and geometry became my muse, fueling my fascination with calculations, formulas, graphics, and problem-solving. I found myself deciphering puzzles wherever math could be applied.

By the time I reached high school, I had already made up my mind. The path of a software engineer beckoned me. I enrolled in a computer academy to broaden my knowledge of computer science. Here, I delved into algorithms, data structures, and the art of coding. I crafted my first real programs, from quadratic equation solvers to maze generators and various games.

The academy, and then university, introduced me to a vibrant community of like-minded individuals passionate about programming and computer science. This environment laid a rock-solid foundation, shaping me into the specialist I am today.

The Professional Odyssey

Igniting the Flame of Software Development

In 2008, during my final year at university, I took my first steps into the professional world as a .NET developer. I was fortunate to join a large company with well-established processes, where I contributed to a groundbreaking healthcare project. This experience was immensely fulfilling, as I played a role in developing software that saved lives worldwide. It was here that I immersed myself in web technologies and had the privilege of working alongside experts who would go on to shape tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Airbnb.

Mastering the Art of Enterprise Projects

The early years of my career were marked by involvement in extensive enterprise projects at outsource companies like GlobalLogic and EPAM. Here, I honed not only my technical skills but also gained invaluable insights into processes, management, and communication.

Empowering Product Companies with Innovation

My journey then led me to product companies, beginning with Plarium. This phase transformed me from a skilled engineer into a problem solver. Plarium primarily focused on browser games and its own game portal. I was entrusted with leading the game portal, and together with a remarkable team, we turned it into one of the company’s most prized products. We also pioneered a framework and CMS that set the standard for the company’s web projects, a source of great pride.

Conquering Challenges at Namecheap

Next, I ventured into Namecheap, one of the world’s largest domain resellers. The company’s remarkable culture impressed me, as did their ability to unite numerous teams and exceptional engineers to build a microservices-based product. My mission was to stabilize and rewrite a core component, the shopping cart, and seamlessly integrate it into the microservices ecosystem. Within a year, we not only achieved this goal but also developed a payment gateway for the company’s projects.

Mastering the Art of Solution Architecture

My career took an exciting turn when I transitioned into a Solution Architect role at Kitrum. Here, I helped numerous startups bring their products and tech teams to life. Over three years, I initiated over ten projects, from the pre-sales phase to crafting project architecture, assembling teams, and ensuring seamless project transitions while offering ongoing support and guidance.
